Sights on the Sites
One of the pleasures of staying on a site is people watching. There is nothing a motorhomer (or I suspect a caravanner) likes more than to watch how others operate and make comment. As we sit here relaxing after our six or seven mile walk today we can watch the new arrivals at the site. There is the fellow Brit who in his haste to take on more water forgets to unhook his electric cable and trails it behind his van as he follows the one way system around the campsite. There is the Dutchman who decides to brave a muddy pitch and ends up stuck, unable to drive in or out. This requires the owners 4x4 and some spade work before he is free and moves to the hard pathways like the rest of us. The German who arrives at the pitch next to us has a van twice our size and enjoys not one mains supply but two! What does he do with all that power? All we know is that he needed to empty his chemical toilet twice in twelve hours!!
What do they say about us? I know that the local workmen who are busy renovating bungalows opposite our pitch were impressed with our full line of washing blowing in the breeze.
